It's my birthday today! Not all that exciting, but I am 18 now, so I registered to vote, which was pretty cool. I get a say now, however small, in things that affect my life.

Anyways, I woke up just in time to go canoing with my aunt and mom, but not early enough to eat breakfast first. Whatever, I wasn't really hungry until lunch, which was basically a scavenging adventure for all of us. There was still a bit of that taco meat, so I had yet another soft taco. I like them with tortillas better than the hard taco shells, I think.
Then we went to my birthday tea party thing. My friend Joe Lee, as well as Paula and Kate organized it for me, since we usually teach an art class on Tuesdays. It was so lovely. I'm not usually that into birthdays, but today was nice because I had family, but also a lot of my friends showed up and we just sat around and it was nice. In this picture you can see the several tea pots with various sorts of tea, all the cups, pretty flowers, punch, and scones.
And here's the two pies AND a cake. Paula made the cake and Kate baked both the pies. (One was wheat-free so Joe Lee could eat it.)
And just a picture of a messy table with dirty plates and hats and things because it seemed appropriate. The aftermath of the party, if you will.
Now when we got home, we pretty much immediately started cooking dinner. So much food today. My grandpa grilled up some sort of steak and my grandma made a huge a very tasty salad with stuff from the farmer's market and tomatoes from her own garden. The bread is from a wonderful baker at the farmer's market as well.
Finally I had a piece of cheesecake, not actually after dinner, but later at night after I went out for a bit. Tasty.

Another breakfast of yogurt and granola.
For lunch I had the left overs from last night's stir-fry. Equally delicious heated up in the microwave, although a little less pretty.
My grandparents picked a TON of blueberries which I ate many handfuls this afternoon. The lighting in this picture is a little funny, but there was a huge bowl full of them.
My mom and aunt brought home some tamales, not from the farmer's market this time, but some lady who is famous for them or something. They were pretty tasty, probably better than the ones from the market.
But of course, since everyone else ate dinner rather early, I got really hungry again around the time they were going to sleep and made myself a quesadilla. This picture isn't that great, the red stuff is salsa.
After the quesadilla, I had a craving for something sweet, so I ate an otter pop, despite it being freezing in my house.
And when the otter pop didn't quite satisfy, I dug out the last of the cookies and cream ice cream that's been sitting in our freezer and ate that. So much cold. There really was hardly any left, just what you see in the picture, which is a little yellow.

I got up really late this morning. I was tired. From all the fun at the block party and such. Many good bands, many fun people. Anyways, I was starving when I got up, so I cooked myself some scrambled eggs with cheese, but only ate a little bit because I wasn't feeling very good.Still wasn't feeling good a couple hours later, so I just had some toast for lunch. But plain buttered toast can be the best thing sometimes, so tasty in such a simple way.
I ate yet another nectarine this afternoon. I'm starting to think I might not take new pictures of the things I eat really often, and just reuse the same ones.
I made a stir-fry for dinner, which we ate with some white rice. It was pretty good, I just thawed some chicken from the freezer and threw in whatever veggies we had in the fridge, plus some canned things, like baby corn and bamboo shoots.
I started getting quite hungry later tonight, which makes sense because I haven't been eating all that much. I made myself a soft taco sort of thing with some taco meat left over from the tacos I guess my parents ate last night. There was half a tomato in the fridge which I didn't use because it had started to go moldy, so I just piled on a ton of salsa and cheddar cheese after I heated the meat and tortilla in the microwave, and added some lettuce, olives, and sour cream. It was wonderfully filling.(And looks really square.)

Oh my, I am awful! I forgot to take pictures of anything I ate today! I'm realizing that it's rather hard to remember when I'm not at home. I'll try though.
I didn't have any breakfast since I was running late because I was so tired from the night before. I went to the block party with Amanda again, and we had lunch with my Justina her sister and a Thai restaurant. I had green curry, which I've been rather obsessed with lately, but I think I might be sick of it.
I drank a Monster energy drink because they were giving them away for free at the block party and also a couple sips of the disgusting smoothie Shiloh bought.
Finally, we went to Dick's after we left and I had a cheeseburger and strawberry milkshake, and ate a couple of Amanda's fries.
I'm so sorry I forgot to take pictures all day!

I had a mixed berry yogurt with some strawberry vanilla hemp granola mixed in for breakfast.
Then I went to Seattle with Amanda and Jamie and we had lunch with my dad before heading over to the Capitol Hill Block Party. And I forgot to take a picture! But I had a very tasty stir-fry with shrimp and lots of yummy things with rice noodles at some Vietnamese restaurant. I don't remember the name.
I didn't really eat dinner while I was at the block party but I did buy a muffin from Cafe Vita so I could use their bathroom instead of the port-a-potties. It ended up being really good, although I have no idea what kind it was. There was a cinnamon-y flavor, and berries, and some sort of seeds, and oatmeal on the top.
We went to a party out in the woods before heading home, but it was stupid and annoying so we didn't stay long. When I got home I was really really tired, but I did manage to eat another delicious farmer's market nectarine before falling asleep.

For some reason my mom made pesto this morning, using basil from our garden, so I had a couple bites of that for breakfast. I guess I just had a really late breakfast and she had a kind of early lunch.
Made a quesadilla for lunch,
Carrots and celery as a snack,
And a veggie burger for dinner.
These raspberries were from a friend's bushes, and are delicious frozen.

Scrambled eggs (with cheese and some sort of hot sauce added) and bacon for breakfast.
Since I had the bacon, I made a BLT for lunch. (I didn't realize that I had no bread until after I'd started to cook the bacon, but a whole wheat hamburger bun worked awesomely.)
I had some more M&Ms,
a nectarine,
and an otter pop in the afternoon.
I had planned on making a stir-fry for dinner, but no one else was home and I was feeling lazy so I just had some Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. I'm surprised I'm not feeling sick already.
And finally, I ate a bowl of vanilla ice cream late at night.

Wow, first post. I guess I should sort of explain what I'm doing. I thought it would be cool to take pictures of every single thing I eat for . . . . well, as long as I can keep it going. The plan is to post the day's food at the end of each day but I know there will be days when that won't happen. I promise to always try to get caught up though.

I should say that I'm not some sort of amazingly healthy eater. Nor am I a complete fast food crap addict. I try to eat healthy, but it doesn't always happen. My goal is to cook more, but I'm sure there will be plenty of posts filled with microwaved leftovers and food from a box.

Well . . . wanna see what I ate today?

No breakfast this morning, unless you count the handfull of M&Ms I ate while reading Sunset. Then I had some garlic couscous from a mix. I'd never had this before, but it was quite tasty and super quick to make!
While I was fooling around on the computer, I ate some pistachios and drank a root beer. (I don't think I'll list everything I drink, but I guess . . . sometimes?) Later, I ate a few of these dried apricots my mom made. The flavor is super intense. Totally makes your mouth pucker, but they're pretty delicious. The apricots themselves came from the trees at our cabin over by Lake Roosevelt. For dinner I ate some tamales from the farmer's market, it's becoming quite a Tuesday night tradition for the summer.
While watching tv I ate some popcorn, plain and boring with just melted butter and salt today. At least it wasn't that awful microwave stuff. These cherries, also from the market, weren't quite as good as the last couple weeks. Oh well. Finally, I had a pink Otter Pop (Is that Poncho Punch? I think so.) while sitting in bed writing this post.
